TPD stands for Tobacco Products Directive, which is a European Union law that regulates the production, sale, and advertising of tobacco and related products. A TPD bottle refers to a specific type of container used for e-liquids or vape juices, which are commonly used in electronic cigarettes or vaping devices. These bottles are typically designed to comply with the TPD regulations, which may include features such as child-resistant caps, specific labeling requirements, and limited capacity sizes.
The TPD (Tobacco Products Directive) is a European Union directive that regulates the manufacture, presentation, and sale of tobacco and related products. While the specific requirements may vary slightly among EU member states, here are the general bottle requirements for TPD-regulated e-cigarette liquids:
Maximum capacity: The maximum size of a refill container (bottle) for e-cigarette liquids is limited to 10ml.
Child-resistant packaging: All bottles must be equipped with child-resistant packaging to prevent accidental ingestion by children. The packaging should have a secure mechanism that requires a specific action (such as pressing and twisting) to open it.
Tamper-evident packaging: Each bottle must have a tamper-evident seal or packaging that ensures the liquid has not been tampered with before purchase. Once opened, the packaging should be noticeably altered or damaged to indicate that the product is no longer in its original condition.
Clear labeling: The packaging of the e-liquid bottle must include certain information, such as the nicotine content, a list of ingredients, the batch number, the expiration date, and warnings regarding the product's ingredients and potential health risks. The labeling should be clear and easy to read.
Nicotine concentration: E-liquids with a nicotine concentration of more than 20mg/ml are prohibited, except for nicotine-containing e-cigarettes with a specific medicinal license.
It's important to note that these bottle requirements may be subject to additional specifications and regulations imposed by individual EU member states.
